After illicitly accessing confidential data from Samsung's Galaxy line, cyber-criminals removed about 200 GB of the company's data, which includes encryption (digital security); binary encryption (computerized numbering system with the numbers 0 and 1) and access control.

As of yet, there is no idea as to the specific purpose of the attack, but the action is believed to be so that hackers can unlock the phones that are marketed by the company.

The multinational company came to the public to confirm the attack suffered and claimed that the leak did not reach personal information of its customers and employees.

The size of the attack puts the privacy of a large part of the population at risk, considering that the affected brand of cell phone holds a large part of the cell phone market segment, which is an instrument used by practically all of society nowadays.

Events such as the one reported place the issue of data protection and information security as priorities, not only for regulatory agents, but also for several business branches that support the maintenance of the due protection of the intimacy of each citizen.
