Infraero has publicly announced that the first air route in the world to receive facial biometric boarding will be in Brazil, more precisely on the Rio-SP route.
The Facial Biometric System Operation was inaugurated on Tuesday, the 9th, witnessed by Marcelo Sampaio, Minister of Infrastructure, by Brigadier Hélio Paes de Barros Junior, president of Infraero; Gileno Barreto, CEO of Serpro; Roniel Glanzmann, National Secretary of Civil Aviation and the CEO of ANAC, Juliano Noman. It is also worth mentioning, as an honor, the presence of partners of the Embarque + Seguro 100% Digital Project, and representatives of Conaero who were present at the inauguration at Congonhas Airport, SP.
Infraero also stated that the month of August will be a month of gradual updating of this pioneering system at airports.
The last week of the month, more precisely on the 25th, is when the complete installation of the new technological system is scheduled. So far, GOL, LATAM and AZUL will be the airlines that will have this benefit.
It is worth noting that the passenger's choice to board with a biofacial or ticket is optional, using the ticket and necessary documents.
For those who choose to use the technology, they will be promised that they will not need to present boarding passes and physical documents, with physical analysis being used from check-in until boarding.
To have access to this modus operandi, the customer must necessarily go through a digital registration with the registered companies, requiring: Valid biometric document; Airline ticket; Access to the Registration Channel; Biometric Validation of the Airline.
The objective is to generate the transit of passengers and crew members quickly and safely. This can be seen through the analysis carried out during the testing period of the new platform, which found a 27% (twenty seven percent) reduction in queues.
Furthermore, actions aimed at registering facial data must comply with the terms of the LGPD, and must be carried out on each new flight.
The technical agreement between Infraero and Serpro generated the presence of +Seguro at 20 (twenty) boarding gates between the two airports, with 12 (twelve) gates and ten turnstiles in São Paulo and 8 (eight) gates and 5 (five) turnstiles in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, it was confirmed that after carrying out the necessary tests, each piece of equipment will be released for direct use, in addition to formalizing its adhesion through the signing of a confidentiality agreement to accept the LGPD rules.
