Recently, customers of the Bradesco financial group received unpleasant news from the company, as approximately 53,000 consumers were exposed by a leak of their personal data. The Financial Institution has already notified the injured parties and is cooperating vigorously with the authorities.
In a statement released on the day of the incident, the bank released a note to Reuters stating that all necessary measures will be taken to resolve the incident, stating that the leak did not jeopardize the complete access to the system used for its customers' financial transactions.
This is not the first time that financial groups have suffered from data leaks. Last month, Banco Pan detected a system failure in one of its technology suppliers, which allowed the leaking of its customers' information, due to a vulnerability related to card segmentation.
Unlike Bradesco, Banco Pan has not yet indicated the number of customers affected.
However, in 2022, these two banking institutions were not the only ones to suffer from system intrusions. In mid-February, the Central Bank confirmed the leak of registration data due to PIX of customers linked to LogBank Soluções em Pagamentos S/A.
It is estimated that around 2,112 PIX keys were diverted, containing sensitive information and data, such as: name; CPF; relationship stage; and account number of Brazilian citizens.
