President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva sanctioned this Wednesday (21) the law that makes November 20th a national holiday, after the bill presented by the Chamber's black bench was approved by the National Congress.


It was already considered a holiday in some cities and states, the date marks the death of the leader of Quilombo dos Palmares, Zumbi, in the 17th century, and still aims to raise awareness among the population about black culture and the struggle to fulfill black rights. black population in our country. The holiday will come into effect in 2024.
