Government grants extension of deadline for payment of PIS/COFINS and social security contributions for May 2020

ME Ordinance No. 245, of June 15, 2020, was published today in the DOU, extending it to October 2020 the deadline for payment of the following contributions, related to the competence May 2020:

  • PIS/COFINS;
  • Employer Social Security Contribution (CPP);
  • Social Security Contribution on Gross Revenue (CPRB);
  • Contributions due by the agroindustry and rural producers; and
  • Contributions due by the domestic employer.

The rule aims to support taxpayers at this time of crisis caused by Covid-19 and is in line with previous Government initiatives, which initially covered the powers of March and April 2020.
