In February 2020, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) published the opening of a public consultation for social participation in the process of the 6th round of airport concessions. Granted in blocks, the 22 airports are in the South, Central and North areas. This past Tuesday, September 15, the process of the sixth round of airport concessions was approved.

The new legal documents and the Technical, Economic and Environmental Feasibility Studies (EVTEA), which include adjustments that were necessary due to the change in scenario resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic, were sent for analysis by the Federal Court of Auditors, so that they can proceed to final publication.

The initial contribution of each block was defined with minimum values of:

  • R$ 48,218,080.97 for the North Block;
  • R$ 133,464,598.11 for the South Block; and
  • R$ 8,207,177.70 for the Central Block

Contract values were also adjusted considering the change in demand projections and the contribution value provided for in the EVTEA. The review considers the impacts suffered by the sector due to the pandemic and possible repercussions throughout the concession contracts.

The total contract values are R$3.6 billion for the North Block; R$7.4 billion for the South Block and R$3.5 billion for the Central Block.

The concession projects for the provision of public services for the operation, maintenance, exploration and expansion of the airport infrastructure of the 22 airports, as well as the partnerships promoted by the Federal Government, open space for new groups to operate in the transport sector.
